A Historical Journey of Music and Conflict

Throughout history, music has played a vital role in all forms of military history, from conflicts and events such as 9/11, to full scale declarations of war.  The role of music in these events ranges from military procedures, to rousing songs of American pride and patriotism, and finally to forms of protests and calls for peace.  Whichever side, music and conflict are forever tangled.

This website will look at the history of music in the military, as well as music's place and purpose in several of the most iconic wars and conflicts.  Explore the sites and sounds of music and conflict -- from patriotism to protest.
